About

MY DRIVE IS UNDERSTANDING AND CONNECTION; MY DELIGHT IS THE HARMONY OF AN ELEGANT SOLUTION.

Lifelong learner and skill collector with a passion for sharing ideas and the intentioned, iterative design process of making something unique. I have an extremely high visual aptitude and have been very successful leveraging any tech that is highly visual and analytical. I am a Senior GIS Analyst whose degree is in fine Arts Photography. I am also a self-taught seamstress, have learned professional upholstery and bespoke tailoring. I love the combination of idea generation, construction research, materials sourcing, pattern development, and process thinking required to design and produce something useful, comfortable and beautiful. In my free time I volunteer as a tutor for reading partners with a public school, lap swim, ride gravel and road race with a cycling team, cook gourmet food and walk my two small dogs.

Experience

  • Started as a Graphics specialist and transitioned into GIS by learning on the job and using my Civil design experience to improve the longitudinal quality of datasets in areas of asset management, urban planning, design, and disaster response. I onboarded and developed Non-GIS recruits into GIS specialists, progressed to a role assigning work and then onto managing cross-functional teams and increasing digital map and dashboard usage and quality for cross-department and external stakeholders.

  • I was the first hire of a new civil engineering department within a larger architecture, interior, and structural design firm. I developed the visual styles to be used in design drawings, created dynamic design models, designed construction drawings for clients under a Professional Engineer, and assisted with other departments.

  • Working under a Professional Engineer on City of Tulsa street projects; drafting, assisting professional surveyors, administrative work, plotting plan sets, couriering contracts and plans.

The creative act is not an act of creation in the sense of the Old Testament. It does not create something out of nothing; it uncovers, selects, re-shuffles, combines, synthesizes already existing facts, ideas, faculties, skills. The more familiar the parts, the more striking the new whole.
